OUR STORY

Grammata STEM was formed in 2017 when its founder recognized the need for”all year-round” STEM activities for America’s Youth.

STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.  Having a BS in Engineering, Masters in Education, Masters in Computer Science, 10 years of Information Technology private sector work experience as well as 16 years of High School Teaching experience and 12 years of High School Robotics education experience,  the founder has taken from each of these experiences to form this non-profit to benefit students of all ages.

The mission of Grammata STEM is to promote STEM activities, foster student growth and inspire students to take a path toward competing in tomorrow’s highly competitive and technology driven economy.

Grammata STEM offers several STEM “Camps” and activities.  They are offered though either Sponsored Events or through Camp Registration.

SCIENCE
The goal of our science camps are not only to inspire students to WANT to take science classes throughout their academic careers, but they will use technologies such as “probe-ware” that will be used in simple experiments to collect data.  The camps will also teach students how to use tools such as spreadsheet and presentations software to not only analyze the data collected, but to present it in a professional manner expected of the 21st century high school and college student.

TECHNOLOGY
Our technology camps begin with Robotics.  Various Robotics platforms will be used to teach students about robotics and automation, how to construct basic robots, how to download firmware and programming instructions and how to program the robots to complete tasks that gradually become increasingly more difficult.  The camp may also prepare students for any local Robotics competitions throughout the year.

ENGINEERING
The engineering camps will teach students of various ages to learn how to “think in 3D” and model three dimensional objects.  Depending on the age group, students will learn a specific CAD software and learn how to create parts and generate assemblies of these parts.  The student will learn the fundamentals of modeling basic objects and  in certain camps, print their 3D model creations!

MATH
Our Math camps will have varying level Math activities but the primary focus will be to teach students Computer Programming, Web Development and Mobile phone applications.  Depending on the age group students will learn to build computer desktop applications, web sites and mobile phone apps through varying types of hardware / software.  No experience is needed, however, the camps will have graduating levels of knowledge and skills.
